LYQS May Yaji 2023: Marking the Coronation of King Charles III

The Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla will take place the Saturday before this yaji, so this yaji will mark this momentous occasion in British history. The King (or Prince Charles as he was previously known as) is an avid supporter of traditional arts and music, and once heard one of our members play qin for him. He was also patron of the Prince's Charities Foundation (China), which supported our society in past events, such as the 2011 Four Arts Summer School at the British Museum. We will also officially announce the 1st London International Chinese Music Festival 2023, to take place at Goldsmiths and SOAS, and the 2nd London International Guqin Conference 2023 at the yaji. Please note the room for this yaji is different from the previous ones. It is now in the Djam Lecture Theatre (DLT), in the same Brunei Gallery building.

MEMBERSHIP INFO
Existing members are reminded that they may renew their membership directly on EB, or via another method.

Non-members may join the LYQS before the yaji by filling in the application form and paying their dues. You may also apply for or renew your membership now by paying the membership dues on EB and then filling out the online application form by requesting it from the Secretary.

It is strongly encouraged that membership fees and renewals be settled no later than the day before the event. This is so we have time to send you the email and details about the event as we would be busy on the day and may not have time to monitor EB for late subscription confirmations, etc. If you do this after the deadline, you must contact us directly to inform us of your actions so we are aware.

Non-member fees are currently suspended until further notice.

Please note: paying via EB incurs its own fees in addition to our membership rates. If you do not wish to pay these fees you must apply/renew via another method agreed with the Secretary during the application process BEFORE THE DAY OF THE EVENT.

Overseas membership applications and renewal subscription fee payments should be done via EB as it is quicker and easier to process than via PayPal.
